Boxelder
“When Asked Which Kind of Magic She Preferred, Fireflies or Phosphorescence, Eloise B. Elderflower, Simply Said, ‘Yes.’”
Like each of the nine mobiles in The Samara Series, Boxelder is a one-of-one design. In other words, this mobile will never be reproduced. It is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Size. Approx. 35” wide x 19” wide.
Wada Colorway #158. Molotow Cliff Green, Orange Brown, Jasmin (sic) Yellow, and Blue Gray Dark.
Construction. Made with 32-gauge galvanized steel metal and 14- and16-gauge galvanized steel wire.
Entirely handmade in Portland, Oregon. Handcrafted design from mobilist Mark Leary.
The Experimentals include floating off-angle pieces with sky wire “stems” and a cantilevered design.
Did you know the Boxelder has completely fooled the world by growing leaves that look exactly like poison ivy, paired with a vibrant red defense chemical that turns its wood into striking, blood-stained art.
Please note: I am not affiliated with Alexander Calder or the Calder Foundation. “Calder” is a trademark of the Calder Foundation.
