Sycamore
“Isadora Sylviana Platana (aka Sy or Sycamore), the Original Oracle of Portlandia, Foresaw the Exact Morning Your Favorite Coffee Shop Would Run Out of Oat Milk, But She Chose Not to Tell You Because She Refuses to Distribute Premium Cosmic Insights to Anyone Who Won't Buy Her a Pastry First.”
Like each of the nine mobiles in The Samara Series, Sycamore is a one-of-one design. In other words, this mobile will never be reproduced. It is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Size. Approx. 31” tall x 24” wide.
Wada Colorway #222. Molotow Orange Brown, Khaki, Slider Light Orange, and Blue Gray Dark.
Construction. Made with 32-gauge galvanized steel metal and 14-gauge galvanized steel wire.
Entirely handmade in Portland, Oregon. Handcrafted design from mobilist Mark Leary.
The Experimentals include waterfalling orbs (e.g., orbs free attached to connecting wires).
Did you know the 1971 Apollo 14 space mission carried sycamore seeds that - when returned to earth - were planted all across the country and known as Moon Trees. Here in Portland, our very own Mt. Tabor has a rare descendant of one of these original trees. Known as a Half-Moon Tree, this special sycamore can trace its cosmic lineage back to one of the original space seeds.
